Why it is useful for English-speaking patients
The clinic's current website explicitly says that it supports medical consultations in English. SEF's owner has also directly confirmed that both physicians can consult in English. That direct confirmation applies to the doctors; reception and other staff English may vary.
Cardiology and internal-medicine scope
The clinic publishes cardiology, general internal medicine and respiratory medicine, with testing and follow-up for conditions such as hypertension, arrhythmia, heart failure and other cardiovascular problems. It also runs a pacemaker / ICD / CRT specialty clinic and can coordinate referral to higher-level hospitals when needed.
The doctors
Director Yuji Wakayama is a cardiology specialist who previously worked at Tohoku University and studied at the University of Calgary. Deputy Director Minako Wakayama also has a cardiology background and studied at the University of Washington. The clinic says both doctors usually see patients in the morning; afternoon coverage is generally the director.
Before you go
General outpatient hours are 9:00–12:30 Monday through Saturday and 14:00–17:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with reception ending 15 minutes before closing. Check the official site for changes. If you need English help before you reach the doctor, calling ahead is sensible because front-desk English is not guaranteed.
