The center invites foreign nationals living in Miyagi Prefecture to contact it about difficulties, worries or problems in daily life and to discuss them in a supported language.
Languages
The current MIA page lists English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Nepali, Indonesian, Portuguese, Thai, Hindi, Spanish and Russian.
Specialist advice
The center states that specialist advice can be provided through a three-way telephone support service, with an MIA counselor interpreting. This is useful when a general life problem needs escalation into a more specialized route.
When to use this instead of a Sendai-only service
This is a Miyagi-prefecture route rather than a Sendai-city-only desk. It is especially relevant if you live outside Sendai or your problem belongs to a prefecture-wide support context.
