What the center handles
The current SenTIA page says the center provides useful information for living in Sendai, accepts consultations from foreign residents, and provides advice related to multicultural community building. It can also route people toward specialist consultations and other support services.
Consultation languages
The live consultation page currently lists 24 languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Tagalog, Thai, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Indonesian, Italian, French, German, Malay, Khmer, Burmese, Mongolian, Sinhalese, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu and Ukrainian.
Interpretation Support Hotline
The center also runs a three-way Interpretation Support Hotline at 022-224-1919 for foreign residents, tourists and short-term visitors who need help communicating in Japanese at public offices or when seeking information. The current page lists 22 languages for this hotline.
Current location and hours
The live SenTIA page currently places the center at 1F, Sendai Park Building, 6-1 Kokubuncho 3-chome, Aoba-ku. It is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with one or two closure days per month plus other announced closures.
